Canadian raised Emily Haines is the front woman, keyboardist and vocalist and co-songwriter of indie rock band Metric.
It's not often I see someone in the public eye who's personal style I really admire and is similar to my taste, so after seeing Metric live whilst I lived in Nashville in 2010, I couldn't help but be impressed by not just her musical abilities but also her personal style on stage. Emily's style is a really classy mash up of rock n roll with a bit of everything else creeping in whilst keeping it simple with lots of blacks and whites. Somewhat effortless but also not forced like she's just walked out the closet wearing her grandmothers floral curtains.
I discovered a really great article about Emily, her experiences with Metric and some personal details about her wardrobe including a mouth drooling leather jacket below and a fantastic multi-coloured sequinned jacket. You can check out the entire article on Refinery 29 HERE.
I have also created a mood board on Pinterest for my favourite Leather and Black garments, looks including a few of Emily Haines HERE
Since I've been listening to Metric a lot lately, I've been inspired again to write more music myself and take on some new personal style ideas from Emily.
Till next time....
