3 words to describe Audrey's style in my first style crush feature:
Attitude x Femininity
The 1950's is one of my favourite style periods. Rock n Roll emerges and fashion takes a new turn with teenage and young adult fashions became a new marketing niche.
Audrey was so versatile in her approach to fashion. Her ability to express her personality was evident; she often appeared relaxed and full of life in her shoots. Many interviews entail how she didn't care much about fashion really but it is evident she thrived off the way fashion allowed for expression. Her iconic features and continuous smile enamoured millions and her heart for the poor as she neared her death was inspiring.
"Givenchy gave me a look, a kind, a silhouette. He has always been the best and he stayed the best. Because he kept the spare style that I love. What is more beautiful than a simple sheath made an extraordinary way in a special fabric, and just two earrings?" revealed Hepburn." Simplicity.
I especially love the stripes that Audrey wears, her statement hats, well constructed textured dresses and headscarves.
